Known locally as the Travs, this is a friendly community local with a strong feeling of a country pub, from its rural location at the northern edge of the village. Inside is a snug public bar, surrounded by an L-shaped lounge and games area, all served from a central bar. It has several pictures of local miners and history on its stone walls.
A quiz is held on Wednesday Evenings. If visiting, please note, the pub is Cash only!
The pub is situated in a good area for walkers between the Baran and Gwrhyd mountains. Carn Llechart Stone Circle, Cwm Ddu Glen and the 1500-year-old Llangiwg Church are worth visiting while in the area.
